Observational and Documentary
I filmed the footage for this while in Ireland. I was in an unusual headspace, both happy to be there and sad to be away from my son for so long. I was proud to be having a successful university career, but disappointed in the quality of the film program I was enrolled in. The film ended up embodying these conflicting emotions, and won an award upon my return to Portland.

Narrative Film and Writing
I wrote and edited this short film and ended up acting in it, too, as we were a crew totaling all of 3. Tuesday Dunn-Blue and Patrick Schmaltz did sound and camera, most of the time while crammed into my PT Cruiser.

Editing and Sound Design
I loved doing rhythmic editing in school. There was something about focusing on the music, the timing, the visuals, that made editing into a fun activity. Iām pretty sure these projects are what made me a fan of video editing in the first place. Thanks, Professor Morrow!
By the way, this is not one I turned in for homework. I just loved the song and wanted to make something with it.
A short, personal, experimental film done for my capstone class in college and inspired by survivance.org. The class was Indigenous Grantwriting, and they partnered with the Research for Indigenous Community Health (RICH) Center. The class was meant to teach us grant writing while also aiding the RICH Center in procuring funds for their projects. I was completely out of my depth and had no idea what I was doing. But I learned, and the experience of going through the Survivance steps was fantastic. As an added bonus, this class introduced me to the author Stephen Graham Jones, who writes the kind of horror that clicks with my brain.
